There is one ingredient that our sweet owner and chief baker, Ilana Kadonoff, won’t eat on its own. In fact she despises it! But she insists on including it in her brownie recipe because she believes it was meant to be there.
Ilana doesn’t like walnuts… that is, unless they’re in brownies! She insists that’s what they were meant for, and that’s where they belong.
Walnuts add the perfect texture, flavour, and crunch to our gluten-free, vegan brownies, which we all believe should be fudgy, not cakey, have an intense chocolate flavour, but not cloyingly sweet. Most people insist butter and eggs are essential for the perfect brownie, but not us. We all think ours is perfect just the way it is!
